Driven by the thrill of new discoveries, the former anthropology student from Montpellier could have chosen to go into research or archaeology. However, for Emma François, aged 21, the adventure began in Latin America during a trip to Guatemala.

Meeting with men and women who weave, embroider, sew, create clothes and craft objects signed the designer’s first step on a path that seemed to be waiting for her. The idea of designing a collection that would marry local know-how and street culture soon began to take shape. And in 1996, Sessùn came into being.

Sessùn is unique in its passion for craftsmanship, quality materials and its love of objects from here, there and… everywhere. Bonding with people, with the elements - water, light, clay, roots. Many stories fashioned into garments featuring indigo, ochre, terracotta, fabrics, lace…

Sessùn's rich history of human encounters and delving into the world's heritage resulted in a considered and responsible approach focused on quality and the promotion of know-how. With its uncommon attention to detail and preservation of strong values, Sessun distils its universe into a real art de vivre, ranging from objects for the home to exhibitions.
